An interesting study from South Korea, suggests that RF-EMF exposures might help in treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.
1.5 months old 5×FAD mice were exposed to sham or to RF-EMF at 1950 MHz, SAR of 5 W/kg for 2 hours/day, 5 days/week for 6 months. RF-EMF exposure ameliorated cognitive impairment and amyloid-β deposition. As mechanism of such effect was proposed inhibition of the activity of microgial cells leading to suppression of neuro-inflammation and driven by it deposition of beta-amyloids.
The article is in open access:
Son Y, Park HJ, Jeong YJ, Choi HD, Kim N, Lee HJ Long-term radiofrequency electromagnetic fields exposure attenuates cognitive dysfunction in 5×FAD mice by regulating microglial function Neural Regen Res, 2023, 18 (11): 2497-2503
One hypothesis to consider (if the results are indeed associated with RF-EMF exposure): Mice use the absorbed RF-EMF power to substitute a part of the metabolic activity for maintaining their body temperature (Mice generate approx. 30W/kg to maintain their body temperature under chilly laboratory conditions).
It is not very surprising that a 5W/kg lower metabolism (and associated lower food consumption) over 6 months has an impact on health endpoints, although a direct mechanism related to alzheimers disease is not known.
What do you think?
Best wishes
Hi Dariusz,
I checked to see if we had this paper in the ORSAA database, and we do have it (paper ID: 2760). There are also another 12 papers that might be of interest; see spreadsheet.

Hello Dariusz, Interesting work by the S. Korean Can you figure out the mice exposure level? From the text of the paper it is not obvious. Best wishes, Q.
